4. The Implications of Local Listing
Representation ID: 827
Received: 18/05/2026
Respondent: Cheshire Gardens Trust
4.0 The whole section is written referring to buildings, but the scope of NDHAs is much wider, as in section 2.8 and 8.0.
Wording here and throughout the SPD should reflect this diversity by using the term NDHA, and only refer to ‘buildings’ in the case of specific circumstances, as in 6.0
4.1 The revised local list will only provide clarity if the text format is revised to include significance and include plans to show the extent of any historic designed landscapes that are included.
4.9 Add after "structure" OR HISTORIC LANDSCAPE "on the Local List."

Respondent: Cheshire Gardens Trust
1.1 Add after "Grade II listed buildings" - ONE WORLD HERITAGE SITE AND 17 REGISTERED PARKS AND GARDENS.
1.2 Correction: NON-DESIGNATED HERITAGE ASSETS "play an essential role...
1.5 2nd sentence Add after "Buildings" - AND DESIGNED LANDSCAPES
Reason: The Over Alderley NP includes candidate landscape NDHAs and the SPD should allow for this.
1.6 Will the Local List update include? :
*Text should include significance and comply with this SPD
*Will significant historic designed landscapes researched by Cheshire Gardens Trust, research submitted to CE and included in CHER, be included?
*Historic designed landscapes will require a plan to show extent.

13.2 Add after: "accompanied by an image of the entry taken from the public highway" OR PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY.
Justification being that images of deigned landscapes are often only possible from public rights of way rather than the public highway.
