Local plan scoping consultation

I am responding as a resident living in Disley.

The population of Disley was already considerably increased when the new estate was built, which greatly impacted the local infrastructure.

I am particularly concerned that any further increase in housing will impact the volume of traffic on the A6, the local businesses, the local primary school, the doctor's and dentist's surgeries, Stepping Hill hospital plus we already suffer frequent power cuts in certain parts of Disley plus flooding and very poor mobile phone reception.. Public transport services would also need to be improved whilst parking is already an issue and having no waste disposal site unless travelling a considerable distance is also an issue that affects all residents and would become even more problematic with a further increase in population.

I would like consideration to be given to resident's needs if further building must take place i.e. the need for smaller houses/bungalows for older people to downsize to and for young people to get onto the property ladder. There is also a need for warden assisted housing so that older residents who need this kind of housing would not have to move out of Disley.

Specifically regarding the three sites which have been put forward for development, I feel that the fields in Higher Disley are completely unsuitable for building on as there is no road access and contain the source of the springs which contribute to the flooding of my garden.
