Local plan scoping consultation

I wish to oppose the plans for housing on the land around Broken Cross, Pexhill Road, Gawsworth Road, SK11.

The area is already highly populated and I see no plans to increase the infrastructure in the area to support the additional housing. My main concerns are as follows: -

• Schools – The local schools are already at capacity. Where will the children go to school?

• Doctors – Waiting time is weeks for a non-urgent appointment with a GP. Are more GP’s being brought into the area to cope with the additional demand and pressure. I fear the elderly and needy will really suffer if services are not increased to meet the demand of hundreds / thousands of new residents.

• Hospital – Macclesfield hospital is a small hospital and A&E is already pushed. Waiting times are sometime 6+ hours. I speak from experience.

• Traffic – The traffic around this area is already horrendous especially during rush hour. Broken Cross is a busy area and is used by many vehicles daily to access the M6 at Knutsford. Adding more homes / cars to this area would make getting to work and school even more problematic.
I would also like to know why this land is being considered and not land that already has planning in place. Why not brownfield land once infrastructure is put in place for the above points?
