Redevelopment of brownfield sites should be prioritised to meet housing needs.
Greenbelt land must remain protected. Greenbelt sites seem to be predominantly in the north part of Cheshire East, particularly around Knutsford.
Prevention of urban sprawl, preserving the character of towns and cities, and maintaining clear boundaries between communities. Proposals for Poynton, Adlington and Whiteley Green effectively promote urban sprawl, increasing car dependency and placing additional strain on services. Macclesfield has good rail and transport links would benefit from regeneration, however proposals there are seem to be very limited proposals with few near or in the town centre.
