Local plan scoping consultation

I'm emailing about the local plan consultation about housing developments.

I'm concerned about any building on greenbelt, as this will have very negative impact on natural habitats and wildlife in the area, which has already been affected by all the other developments that are constantly coming up around Cheshire. We have a lot of beautiful countryside and green spaces here; we should be protecting these habitats for wildlife and improving them - rewilding and planting more trees, which will help wildlife and the effects of the climate crisis - not doing the opposite by constantly building over them.

I'm also concerned about any developments on peat land, which again, has a lot of wildlife, and is also a natural carbon store. We need more of these places to prevent climate change, not build over them to exacerbate the problem. There is no need to build over and destroy nature, and I hate that there are constantly building sites and new housing estates where fields and other nature sites used to be. Carry on and we'll have no nature left soon. We need these green spaces as much as wildlife does; they connect us to nature, and spending time in nature improves mental health.

We have plenty of disused sites and buildings that could easily be rebuilt or done up for new houses and flats. Use them instead. Stop putting profits before the planet. The climate crisis is already getting worse, and money won't matter if it continues. Not building on greenbelt won't solve the problem but if we rewild and make more spaces for nature and more peatland, instead of destroying them, we'll help reverse it.
