Local plan scoping consultation

Sir, Madam,

I am a concerned local resident, living in Bollington.

I am deeply concerned about climate change globally and also about wildlife decimation more locally in England. The Poynton Relief Road has cut off a corridor for wildlife in the area. In some ways, I can forgive those that allowed that to happen. It was put into action some years ago.

However, today we are so much more aware of the climate emergency and that nature has to be preserved at all costs. It is the most important issue of the century. The forest fires that rage, the algae that blooms, the riverbed that are dry, the scorched English countryside that screams of a dangerously warming planet. I am unsure why we have to battle for this as an outcome. We can't eat money, we can't breath money, it won't put of the forest fires...

Government's main justification is to protect its citizens against harm - the onus is absolutely on you to create a plan that preserves and extends nature as a priority to protect us from the worst effects of climate change and to make sure that we have local food security by keeping our farmland as farmland. Housing developments must be firmly focussed on brownfield and turning poor housing into quality housing, being creative with space and shared outdoor space, and small plots for starter homes.
