As a resident of Rotherhead Drive, Macclesfield, I have witnessed a significant decline in local wildlife over the past 26 years, which I believe is linked to ongoing development around Danes Moss. Species that were once common, including badgers and bats, are now rarely seen. This loss highlights the wider environmental consequences of overdevelopment, which can permanently damage habitats, biodiversity and ecosystem health. Danes Moss is a well-recognised ecological asset, and further development risks placing additional pressure on surrounding nature. Decision-makers have a responsibility not only to meet development needs but also to protect wildlife, habitats and future generations. I urge the Council to carefully consider the long-term environmental impacts of its decisions and take action to safeguard this important natural area.

My experience- I am a resident of Rotherhead Drive Macclesfield and I have witnessed the deterioration in the local wildlife population in my short time here. The over development of the Danes Moss area is having an impact. I have watched it happen and deteriorate in 26 years which is no time at all. The decisions you make have repercussions and can irreversible consequences on the environment. Think carefully as your decisions will impact on future generations, your grandchildren. I would be woken badgers fighting on my driveway, bats could seen regularly. Not anymore. I am not on own. I get that you are under pressure to act, but you have other responsibilities also, to preserve ecosystem for future generations. To protect the biodiversity which powers and enables this, yours, mine planet to function well beyond our time here. It is well documented on how important Danes Moss is in this. Over development of any area will act as a choke hold the surrounding nature. You are in a unique and privileged position to act to lessen the risk of extinction of species and destruction of their habitat which has already caused floods and scorching temperatures.
