Scope of the new Local Plan
Richmond Rovers strongly supports inclusion of 'Recreation and community facilities' in the scope of the new Local Plan.

It is important that Cheshire East's new Local Plan provides the basis to address the existing deficiency in the quantity and quality of playing pitch provision in the north east of the borough. As such, additional 3G/4G pitch provision for use by local sports clubs should be a key priority of the new Local Plan, particularly in the context of an increasing residential population.

Further, the opportunity to provide new on-site pitch provision should be a key consideration in the selection of any strategic development sites in Poynton and the surrounding area. Smaller developments should be required to make a contribution towards off-site playing pitch provision.

Richmond Rovers specifically requests that it is fully engaged in the update of the Council's Playing Pitch Strategy as referenced in paragraph 5.124 of the Scoping consultation document.
