Mobberley Parish Council objects to the proposed residential, mixed-use and employment
allocations within and around the parish. While the Council recognises the need to support
sustainable growth and meet future development needs, it does not consider that the proposed
sites represent appropriate or sustainable locations for development.
The Parish Council is concerned that the cumulative impact of the proposed allocations would
place unacceptable pressure on local infrastructure, increase traffic congestion, result in the
loss of Green Belt and open countryside, adversely affect biodiversity, and fundamentally alter
the rural character and identity of Mobberley. The scale of development proposed across
multiple sites would have consequences that extend beyond the individual allocations and
would significantly affect the long-term sustainability of the village and its surrounding
countryside.
