I strongly object to the proposed 291-hectare development around Ashley. The village has very limited services, no bus network, and a railway station with only one train per hour, making it wholly misleading to describe the area as well connected.
All access routes to the village cross narrow bridges, raising serious concerns about whether they could safely and practically accommodate large-scale development. The proposal would also result in the loss of protected Green Belt and valuable agricultural land, while threatening sensitive landscapes, wildlife habitats and important heritage settings.
This scale and location of development is entirely inappropriate and would cause unacceptable and irreversible harm to the character and environment of the area. The proposal should therefore be removed from the Local Plan immediately.
