I understand the Council is currently preparing a new local plan which includes the above area of land and is asking for comments.

I want to see this land retained in the Green Belt. I understand that this area of land is designated as an Area of Special County Value.

• The Green Belt should be retained in tact for future generations to enjoy its amenity value as we do now. Once it is gone it is lost for ever.
• The land forms part of a green chain of fields that link Macclesfield with Teggs Nose Country Park and the Peak National Park. This link should be retained. It is part of the town's character.
• Because of its elevated position the area of land is visible, not just from the immediate area, but for the town centre and therefore any development would be especially domineering.
