I believe affordable local housing is essential to supporting rural businesses by enabling employees to live closer to their workplace. Affordable provision should reflect local earnings and prioritise smaller homes. I support distributed growth through infill, conversions and small sites rather than relying solely on larger housing estates. The Council should clarify that Haughton dwelling figures represent modelled capacities rather than promoted schemes. Rural employment premises should also be protected when buildings are considered for reuse, including at Moss Farm. Where housing is allocated, necessary highway, pedestrian and drainage improvements should be identified, funded and delivered before occupation.
